When fitness enthusiasts converse about the subject of cardio machines, Schwinn is a brand name that typically gets thrown around quite a bit. Well, what we have here is a machine made by Schwinn and has been regarded by some users as the best elliptical for small spaces.

Once assembled, this machine is approximately 6 feet in length, 2.5 feet in width, and approximately 5.5 feet in height. So based on these measurements (estimates, mind you), the Schwinn 430 elliptical machine is indeed ideal for limited spaces.

Coming in at approximately 226 pounds with the ability to accommodate up to 300 pounds capacity, the durability level of this Schwinn machine is pretty much faultless.

It’s a very sturdy elliptical and the overall design is real pleasing to the eye. In fact, when we first laid our eyes on the Schwinn 430, we thought it sort of looked like one of those top-of-the-line machines. Needless to say, its affordable price tag came as a big surprise to us.

What’s even more surprising is that this machine provides an overall quality that’s highly satisfactory for the price. You know how it is with cheap cardio machines, right? They tend to go wonky pretty fast, but that isn’t the case with the Schwinn 430.

We’ve been testing it for a few months already, and so far, so good.

We love the machine’s stride which is very smooth and super comfy, especially for long-legged users. The Schwinn 430 offers a total of 20 different resistance levels so when it comes to exercise intensity, you’ll have quite a number of choices here.

In case you want to ramp up the challenge, incline settings are available but you’ll have to perform the adjustments manually. Another plus is the handles which also feel comfy and real nice in the hands.

What’s not so nice though is the fact that those very same handles were built a little too near to the machine’s control panel. If you were to let go of the handles in order to grab your exercise towel or a drink, your hands may wind up hitting those handlebars! So you might want to be extra careful here.

Speaking of control panel, this machine allows you to program the usual data such as time, date, along with age, gender, height and weight. It even has a tracker to determine the amount of distance you’ve covered and a calorie counter too. The bad news is these two features are disappointingly inaccurate.

Oh well, the Schwinn 430 is still a terrific option if you’re in the market for budget-friendly elliptical machine.

Here’s one of the best elliptical machines for home use that won’t drain your budget, and it’s made by the ever popular Nautilus. Cardio machines like this epitomize why numerous fitness enthusiasts are so fond of the Nautilus brand.

It’s hard to believe that you can get a gym-like quality elliptical like this for under $1000.

Like the Schwinn 430 machine, the Nautilus E614 is also able to handle a max weight of 300 pounds and has 20 resistance levels for you to play around with.

The construction quality is top notch overall so when it comes to durability and sturdiness, there’s really nothing for you to worry about. This is one heck of a hefty machine so it can certainly take quite a beating.

How does it operate?

The Nautilus E614 is easy to use and operates very smoothly. To ensure smooth and quiet operation, this elliptical is packed together with a little tube that contains silicon jelly.

This is what you’ll be using to lubricate the machine’s rail so that the unit runs smoothly, without making that irritating squeaking sound commonly associated with elliptical machines.

It is advised to perform the lubrication process after every 2-3 hours of using the machine.

In terms of operation, it’s all super simple. You just mount the thing and access the control panel in order to put in your details into the machine’s program, which is able to store up to 9 different profiles. A total of 22 exercise routines have been programmed into the machine, but you can go with a manual routine if you prefer.

And talking about manual, this elliptical has 6 incline positions but the adjustments have to be initiated manually—just like the Schwinn machine. While we’re happy with the control panel’s ease of use and the quality of the LCD screen, we’re not too pleased with the screen’s lack of backlit. If you were to place this elliptical in a dark area of your basement or garage, then you’ll have a hard time viewing the electronic readout.

Also, similar to the Schwinn 430, this machine doesn’t seem to be able to track your distance in an accurate manner. It’s not a deal-breaker but good grief…how hard is it to put together a program that can accurately measure distance on an elliptical machine?

Still, if you’re searching for the best elliptical under $1000, the Nautilus E614will do the trick.

Here’s another awesome elliptical machine from Nautilus. It’s pricier than the E614, but the extra cost more than makes up for it. With the E616 Elliptical Trainer, you’ll get DualTrack LCD displays which are fully backlit. Instead of 20 levels of resistance, you’ll get 25 of them along with a whopping 29 exercise routines. The E614 offers only 22 routines, remember?

Let’s face it…working out on an elliptical for an extended period of time can get boring. Sure, in the beginning, you can make do by simply listening to music or watching your favorite TV shows while going through the paces on the elliptical machine. But it won’t be long until boredom starts creeping in.

The solution?

Sync your elliptical with free RunSocial App!

This cool feature isn’t available with the E614, but you’ll get it with the E616.The ability to sync with free RunSocial App is a massive plus, especially when it comes to killing off boredom which is one of the main reasons that keeps people from exercising on a regular basis.

Now, by synching this App with the E616, you’ll be able to sweat it out through almost 2 dozen locations with near 30 different routes. The best part is you’ll be able to do this in REAL TIME and in the company of other RunSocial App users from every corner of the globe!

If that doesn’t sound cool to you, then you seriously need to get your head checked. Or perhaps, you’re a lone wolf who prefers to workout alone. Well, that’s cool too. Nothing wrong with that…but this feature is SERIOUSLY AWESOME!

Relatively easy to assemble, great to use, top quality durability, and packed with helpful features, the E616 Elliptical Trainer is pretty much the embodiment of money well spent.

Calories Burned On Elliptical

According to some studies, you should be able to burn off roughly 2.15 calories for each pound of your body weight during half an hour of exercising on an elliptical machine. So if you weigh 200 pounds, that means you should be able to scorch off around 430 calories in a 30-minute elliptical workout session.

Sounds great, huh? Now, c’mon and check out one of those elliptical machines that we talked about earlier, and let’s torch those excess calories!
